"Readying" the 2008 BlueCat Screenplay Website

Always busy reading scripts, putting on screenplay labs from Los Angeles to New York, and keeping in touch with their students, previous winners, and countless industry connections, Gordy and Heather wanted to more clearly define the site's purpose and refine it a bit more. So... on the home page, we introduced left and right columns, changed a black Trebuchet MS to a dark grey Arial font.

This year, the screenplay submission process requires a username and password for better tracking, as this competition continues to grow every year. After all, first place winner gets $10,000! And... early entrants pay a lower entry fee -- so finish your script early! Check out bluecatscreenplay.com to see what we have been working on!

Until next time,
David

Secret Site Project

I wanted to say that I having been helping out with a close friend a web niche site only good for certain people in a certain industry! I could say more, but I do not want to until the site is done, and then when it is done and you see it, you will know why I did not tell you earlier, if at all -- since this a very niche site for a very specific group of people...

How's that for news? I imagine that you do not feel much better off now that you read this, except for this one thing...

I am about to start an interesting blog this week, that will be of interest to those of you who have enjoyed my piano playing in church. Stay tuned!

Now was that worth it? Feel free to comment, if you must... :)

K-joi Studios

Kara at http://kjoistudios.com came to me in hopes that I could help her with some editing and integration problems that she had with her website.

Here are the things we did for Kara so that she could have her Grand Opening on time:

●Integrated her SMF Forum and Coppermine Gallery together so that users only had to login with one username and password.
●Install a Chat Room into her Forum
●Install modifications into her SMF Forum for more functionality
●Added a banner ad software so she could keep better track of them
●Modified and added colors to the current templates in her forum and gallery
●Added more buttons to her navigation bar and installed in as an include in her forum and gallery

UPDATE! We moved her entire site to our servers also!

Adding a topper logo..

OK, so I made the splash page logo smaller to input into Michele's inner pages, but it didn't look right. I made a new "topper" logo just for the inside pages. She really love how it turned out and I enjoyed making it look how it needed to look. I don't like to compromise my work! Here is the topper logo for http://www.timelessinspirations.com

Timeless Inspirations

OK, well I just finished another project and I can move on to the next. We have been backed up with web jobs right now, which is good! My latest design will be plugged into http://www.timelessinspirations.com today! Michele wanted to get some updated graphics for her website that were more "scrappy" looking. Here is what I came up with from the colors she wanted me to use for the splash page logo.

This logo took me longer than usual because of all the things going on in the last month... me going to Australia, my parents being here, and Easter break. It was kind of good though because it gave me time to really think about what I wanted to do. I found myself dreaming and waking up with what I wanted it to look like. This was pretty much it but my dream was to do a clucter of prima flowers in that left hand corner... I like it much better with flourishes and the primas in smaller sizes attached to different ends of the flourishes. I did use vintage photos for the origional but Michele wanted to use some of her family which was totally ok with me. To the left is the origiona, click it to see it better...

Special thanks to http://www.nitwitcollections.com for letting me use the swirly paper for this logo! Thanks Mary Fran!

What has been taking up our time?

Well we have been super busy with a few websites right now.

MyScrapbooking Instructor is one that is really taking up a lot of my time. Along with the initial website, there are also websites within that one with different templates that scrapbooking consultants and instructors can order and have featured on the site. They are amazing and so fun.

I am backed up with orders right now! Get your order in and get closer to the front of the line sooner!

What's New Today!

Today I started work on a really fun website called The Juicy Tomato. Jennifer Stratton has been a client of ours for almost five years now. We have done a handful websites for her including the Scrapbook Chef and Creativity Educators. I am very excited to be working on a new website with her and am interested to see what direction she would like us to take it in!
